Transmit and Pictures
Panic just released a new version of Transmit and the upgrade is $18. I actually own this software and I paid $25 for it. Do I really need a $43 FTP program? No fucking way. I can appreciate what it takes to develop software and more importantly, good software, and that's why I own a license to Transmit 2 (I *own* a precious few pieces of software). If I spent a quarter of the time in Transmit that I do in NetNewsWire, I would consider it, but I don't. I can't believe I've not seen any comments, good or bad, on this pricing. Let me be the first to say it's too much.
Speaking of too much, for almost two years, my defaut OS X picture has been this, and it's gone out with every email and chat I've sent in that time. How I didn't notice that, I have no idea, but I can only assume that's the reason I don't get very many emails back for Mac consulting gigs. This new pic is much better. On a completely unrelated note, I want one of these.
Due to the trifecta of the the new phone, less web surfing and some free time, I've gotten to try a bunch of new software and other stuff lately - and a bunch more coming when I get fully caught up. More later.
