Om and Blue Angels
Last night after work, I went to my first yoga class at Om Yoga which is just down the street from my office. I've been collecting schedules for yoga classes and have found several within blocks of my work that have beginner's classes near the time I get off and I plan on going as often as I possibly can. I've done yoga along with videos, namely Rodney Yee's, in the past, but doing it in a class with other people and an understanding and supportive instructor was really helpful (as I have an old injury that's decreased the mobility of my left leg), and I left there feeling better than I have in I don't even know how long, perhaps since we went skiing in February. Feeling this good once every three months just isn't enough. The good feeling carried through the night and into this morning when I cleaned the whole house in anticipation of a friend coming into town, and I am eagerly anticipating my next class. If you're down in the dumps, I can't recommend it highly enough.
This morning when I was sitting on my terrace having coffee, I saw a C130 flying low over lower Manhattan followed by nine fighter jets flying in formation and I thought we were under attack. A few minutes later, they flew right over me and I saw that they were in fact The Blue Angels. They continued to fly in a wide circle and passed over several more times. An airshow at my house. So cool.
