Intercrack
The Lure of Data; is it Addictive? and I can say that, yes, it is. As someone who has been addicted to all kinds of things before (drugs, work, women) I have seen first hand how my desire and compulsion to "keep up" with web sites and email has not only taken control of my thought process, but has caused problems in my life rather like drugs and alcohol did once upon a time. If this is something that one is aware of and one is willing to moderate, it seems like that would be a problem solver. In my case, I need some sort of rude awakening. My priorities have gone through a major shift lately and I'm remembering that not only is there no "answer" to be found sitting in front of my computer, there are many more productive and healthful ways to escape. I've also learned that the things that I have tried to escape from in the past have not been as bad as I thought they would be.
