Happy September First

Something needs to be put here, so here are some posts I've been holding onto until the appropriate time, which has now arrived.

John Gruber articulates why using Windows is foolish, but they keep using it anyway. He expounds on his opinion in later posts. Check the archives.

FCC to Allow Video on AOL Messenger. Does this mean there might be an iChat for Windows (and another USB adapter) in the works?

I got the cube home, got an airport card installed, and tried to boot from it, but for some reason, that didn't work. Now it's time for Carbon Copy Cloner. I'm doing a bit more computer maintainance as well: running disk warrior (cut my startup time by 80%) while trying to rip a whole book of CDs for a project for Dave as well as the stack of Coldplay singles I came across, but iTunes crashes after every single one.

I want this building so badly I can taste it. It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine. The idea is that I could purchase this building and begin working on it, learning general contracting stuff along the way, as I put myself through architecture school, and then write my thesis on the experience as well as on the facet of architecture that I hope to focus on. Though I like the work of some of the more conservative modernists, I don't believe in building new buildings, especially new houses, but instead want to concentrate on creative reuse of the ones we have.

Somebody came in yesterday day with a Real Ultimate Power jersey that stated proudly "Ninjas are cool, and by cool, I mean totally sweet." We all had a laugh at that as the customer's wife rolled her eyes.
