It's been a year since I've had a cigarette and though it now doesn't seem like such a huge right this moment, it really is, and I'm trying to treat it as such (I believe I first mentioned it on this blog at day 50 when I was definitely over the hump). This new year was the first new year in over ten years that I haven't gone into it with the intention of quitting smoking and every time, it's led to some kind of turmoil (loss of jobs, loss of relationships, etc.), manufactured or not, that made me (or allowed me to?) start smoking again. I am so, so grateful that that's not the case this year.
I have more to speak on later; new year's resolutions, recent excitement and disappointment, nostalgia and hope for 2009, but celebrating this accomplishment is enough for now.
